Zweden

Sweden is a country in Scandinavia in Northern Europe. It is surrounded by Norway to the west and north, Finland to the northeast, the Gulf of Bothnia to the east, the Baltic Sea to the southeast and south, and the Skagerrak and Kattegat to the southwest. In the Baltic Sea are the islands of Öland and Gotland, which also belong to Sweden.

Swedish cuisine, as is the case with other Scandinavian kitchens, has traditionally been regarded as practical and simple. Well-known Swedish dishes include köttbullar (meatballs), kräftskiva (crayfish), pyttipanna (a stew with potatoes, onions and meat), smörgåsbord (a four-course feast), ärtsoppa med pannkakor (pea soup with pancakes) and surströmming (sour herring). Kanelbullar (cinnamon biscuits) are among the most typically Swedish biscuits.
