Norway is a country in Northern Europe. Norway is located on the western part of the Scandinavian Peninsula and borders Sweden, Finland and Russia. The United Kingdom and the Faroe Islands are west on the other side of the North Sea and Denmark is south on the other side of the Skagerrak.

Norway has an area of 385,155 km² (including Spitsbergen) and a coastline of more than 25,000 km. Due to the relatively low population of approximately 5 million[2], the population density is approximately 13 per km² (excluding Spitsbergen: 16 per km²) and Norway is the least densely populated country in Europe after Iceland and Kazakhstan.
