All the flags of the United Nations flutter daily on the Boompjes in Rotterdam. With more than 174 nationalities in Rotterdam, this is only logical. In addition, with a block of 35 masts, we pay attention to changing social, cultural and sporting events in the city.

NATO 74 Years

Today marks NATO’s 74th anniversary, and marks Finland joining the alliance. The Flag Parade celebrates NATO’s birthday and the entry of the 31st member in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs: this week at the Flag Parade, at the foot of the Erasmus Bridge, 33 banners depicting the symbol of NATO are on display. The Commonwealth of the Bahamas is an independent, English-speaking country in the Caribbean. Its name is derived from the Spanish Baja Mar (shallow sea). The Bahamas consists of an archipelago of 700 islands and 2000 cays (or keys = sand / coral plates).

Equatorial Guinea

Equatorial Guinea is a country in Africa, consisting of a continental part, Mbini, which borders Gabon and Cameroon, and the island of Bioko, where the capital Malabo is located. The island also includes the island of Annobón.

The Marshall Islands are an archipelago and since 1986 an independent state in the Pacific Ocean north of Nauru and Kiribati, east of Micronesia and south of Wake Island.

Madagascar

Madagascar is an island and a country that lies to the east of the mainland of the continent of Africa, separated from it by the Mozambique Strait.

Syria

Syria borders the Mediterranean Sea to the west, Turkey to the north, Iraq to the east and southeast, Jordan to the south and Lebanon and Israel to the southwest. The Euphrates bisects the country from northwest to southeast.
