Turkije

Turkey is at a crossroads not only culturally, but also in terms of climate. The east of the country and Central Anatolia have a pronounced continental climate with very hot summers and icy winters in which a lot of snow can fall. The areas along the Mediterranean have a Mediterranean climate while the north coast has a temperate maritime climate. The south-east, with the exception of the mountainous region in the extreme south-east, is mainly arid and in places even desert-like; Turkey has areas with very little precipitation, where salt lakes have also formed.
