Montenegro

Montenegro (from Venetian: 'black mountain') is a country in the Balkans. It lies on the Adriatic Sea opposite Italy and borders, clockwise from the sea, on Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Kosovo and Albania. Since December 2010, it is a candidate member of the European Union.

Montenegrin is the official language in Montenegro. Montenegrin is the (Štokavian) dialect spoken in Montenegro and has 32 letters (Ś and Ź are the two additional letters). The language is closely related to Serbian, Bosnian and Croatian. In Montenegro, both Latin and Cyrillic scripts are used.
