Azerbeidzjan

Azerbaijan is the largest and most densely populated country in the Caucasus. Azerbaijan is located on the border of Eastern Europe and Western Asia. The country borders the Caspian Sea to the east, Iran to the south, Armenia to the west, Georgia to the northwest, and Russia to the north. The Azerbaijani exclave of Nakhchivan borders Iran to the south and southwest, Turkey to the west, and Armenia to the northeast.

Azerbaijanis have a rich culture and some of it is seen as folk art, especially handicrafts. The weaving patterns in carpets is also seen as an art craft. The Azerbaijani rug is a traditional handcrafted textile of various sizes. The country has a large number of different forms of carpets, each region in Azerbaijan has its own distinctive texture and patterns. In November 2010, UNESCO declared the Azerbaijani Carpet a Masterpiece of Intangible Heritage by UNESCO.
