Mariko Shimoda: danseres Conny Janssen Danst

Mariko Shimoda (31, Japan) danst sinds 2012 bij Conny Janssen Danst. Ze heeft opleidingen gedaan aan The Boston Conservatory en Codarts Rotterdam Dance Academy. Ze is onder andere te zien in Danslokaal 4 (2016) en Courage (2016). Daarnaast was ze eerder te zien in werk van onder andere Korzo productiehuis, Scapino Ballet(stage), Dansgroep Amsterdam, Dutch Don’t Dance Division, Alba theaterhuis, Lonneke van Leth Producties en Het Internationaal Danstheater.

“I’m very interested in being involved when things are created. The process of making something out of nothing fascinates me. Dance, for instance, is for me a way to make that happen, since I like other kinds of creation a lot too. In my spare time I enjoy working with fabric and jewellery as well to express myself artistically in a different way.”
