Maleisië

Malaysia is a country in southeastern Asia. It consists of two separate parts separated by the South China Sea. Malacca borders Thailand and Singapore to the north. East Malaysia consists of Sabah, Sarawak, Labuan, the northernmost part of the island of Borneo, which borders Indonesia to the south and includes Brunei to the north.

Mak Yong is an ancient community theater form in Malaysia. It is vocal and instrumental music with gestures and elaborate costumes. In specific villages of Kelantan in the northwest of the country, where this tradition has its origin, the Mak Yong is used as entertainment or as a ritual of healing. In 2005, Mak Yong was included in the Masterpieces list of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity.
