SONG FESTIVAL FACES | The Eurovision Song Contest is the perfect time to celebrate the diversity of Rotterdam. In May, 41 countries come together here, but the rest of the year is no different. Time to ask our fellow Rotterdammers about their country of birth. Today: Christian de Nauw from France.

The interview lasts barely five minutes when 71-year-old Christian de Nauw enters a number. With a deep voice he sings ‘She’ by the French singer Charles Aznavour. De Nauw sang the song – which is romantically approachable – perhaps more often than the singer himself. His voice echoes in the cafe. People look up from their table. De Nauw is not averse to a little attention.
