Flags of peace

Vlaggen hebben heel veel symboliek maar vaak ook een prachtig design. Flags of peace is een internationale organisatie die ontwerpers uit de hele wereld oproept om een vredesvlag te ontwerpen. In Breda kan je de hele expositie zien, op 9 juli is er ook een rondleiding.

Deze vlag is ontworpen door Nifemi Marcus-Bello uit Nigeria. Hij zegt er zelf over: “The colors on the flag represent the 7 continents (Africa – Green, Asia – Yellow, North America – Orange, South America – Pink, Europe – Red, Australia – Brown, Antarctica – White). The coming together of the colors on the flag symbolizes the beauty, unity and serenity that exist in a peaceful cohesion among people of different races, cultures and beliefs. White represents Antarctica but with its dual meaning of peace, it is more prominent and takes center stage.”
